Case Study: Launching A Parent Company Website Following An International Acquisition

Challenge

Following the acquisition of a U.K.-based insurance underwriting agency by a publicly traded U.S. specialty insurance carrier, the organization needed to introduce a newly formed parent group that would serve as a holding company for both entities.

The challenge was multifaceted:

  • The holding company was a brand-new entity with no existing digital presence
  • The website needed to blend the look and feel of two established companies without favoring one over the other
  • The launch had to support a formal acquisition announcement with high visibility among investors, partners, and media
  • There was no traditional marketing strategy—the site’s sole purpose was communications and credibility
  • Due to legal and GDPR considerations, analytics and tracking were intentionally excluded

The site needed to be accurate, authoritative, and launch-ready with little room for iteration after go-live.

Solution

I supported the project by helping define the site’s structure and coordinating execution across teams to ensure a smooth, compliant launch.

Key contributions included:

  • Developing a clear sitemap and wireframe that prioritized leadership visibility, corporate clarity, and press information
  • Translating business and communications objectives into a focused, minimal site experience
  • Working closely with designers to ensure the new holding company’s visual identity subtly reflected both organizations
  • Coordinating with developers, designers, and client stakeholders to manage feedback and approvals
  • Ensuring content accuracy and alignment with legal and communications requirements

The result was a website that clearly introduced the new parent group while respecting regulatory and branding constraints.

Results

  • Successfully launched a new holding company website alongside the acquisition announcement
  • Clearly communicated the organizational structure and leadership of the parent group
  • Provided a trusted, centralized source for press releases and media coverage
  • Delivered a polished, professional presence without relying on analytics or marketing tools
  • Met all legal, branding, and timeline requirements with no post-launch rework

The site functioned exactly as intended: a stable, authoritative communications platform during a critical business moment.

Impact

This project demonstrates the importance of disciplined project management when launching websites tied to corporate transactions and public disclosures.

By focusing on structure, coordination, and risk mitigation, the website supported investor confidence, media clarity, and partner understanding at a pivotal time for the organization.

“It’s very clean,” noted the organization’s chief marketing officer and vice president of communications. “I’m happy with it.”

For companies navigating acquisitions, mergers, or corporate restructuring, this project highlights how a well-managed digital launch can reinforce credibility, even without marketing, tracking, or ongoing optimization.
